The exhibition of the new acquisitions of foreign scientific literature in the Scientific Library of the State Hermitage Museum

The funds of the Scientific Library of the State Hermitage acquired nearly 80 editions on fine arts. Most of the books are printed by the publishing companies "Davaco" and "Waanders". They were selected by the research workers of the State Hermitage Museum in the catalogue of the Netherlandish book-selling company "Martinus Nijhoff Publishers". Present at the ceremony were Consul General of the Netherlands Mr.Hendric Cornelis Johannes Everaars and General Manager of the company "Martinus Nijhoff" Mr.Bus Guijt.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition of new acquisitions of the Scientific Library a book of the famous Netherlandish writer, a nephew of the founder of the company Martinus Nijhoff (1894 - 1953), "Pen on Paper. Ferry-boat. Avater", printed in Saint Petersburg in 2000, was presented to the public. The selling and subscription agency "Martinus Nijhoff" separated from the publishing-house of the same name in 1978 and became an independent company but preserved the name of the founder of the firm. All the largest libraries of the world are the firm's clients. The book-selling company "Martinus Nijhoff" replenishes National libraries, academic and scientific organizations with books, magazines and electronic editions published all over the world.
