Michelangelo Buonarroti. The "Crouching
Youth" from the State Hermitage Museum and the Medici Chapel in Florence
The exhibition is a result of the mutual work of the State Hermitage
Museum and the Casa Buonarroti Museum (Florence) that went on for a number
of years with participation of the British Museum (London) and the Uffizi
Gallery (Florence) and with support of the Administrations of Massa and
Carrara provinces (Italy). It features sculptural and graphic works of
the great Italian artist of the Renaissance Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475
- 1564) that are somehow connected with the Medici Chapel in Florence.
The semantic centre of the exhibition is the sculpture "Crouching
Youth" cut by Michelangelo in c.1530 - 1534. The catalogue of the
exhibition is edited by Doctor of Arts Sergei Androsov and researcher
of creative activities of Michelangelo Professor Umberto Baldini (Italy).
