III Festival of Spanish Music “Spanish
Nights”
The III Festival of Spanish Music was held in the spirit of Avant-garde
and introduced the art of the young composers. The inspirer and artistic
director of the Festival is Alexis Soriano who has been in close cooperation
with the orchestra Saint Petersburg Camerata since 1998. Four symphony
pieces were performed for the first time in the world. Four concerts were
held in the largest concert halls of Saint Petersburg - in the Bolshoy
and Maly Halls of the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Society, in the Hermitage
Theatre and in the Small Skylight Hall of the New Hermitage. The orchestra
Saint Petersburg Camerata was the principal performer at the festival.
On November 3, 2000 Gloria Isabel Ramos, the laureate of the international
music contests, conducted the orchestra.
