Non-classical Classics. Three Generations of
the Pupils of the "Hermitage School" of Grigory Dluglach
6 November 1998 - 6 December 1998
The "Hermitage School" of Grigory Dluglach was a non-official creative
union of the pupils of Grigory Duglach, an artist
and a remarkable pedagogue. They did not simply copied works by such prominent
artists as Titian, Rubens, Veronese, El Greco, Rembrandt, Poussin, Van
Dyck and etc, but produced interpretations of their own. In 1960s this
union gave birth to an independent trend in Soviet painting and drawing.
On display were 50 paintings and drawings by artists from this school.
